Practice
All practices are held at the Allen Pool in Memorial Park, St. Clairsville.

PM Practices are Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesday (if there isnt a meet), and Thursdays.
Swimmers ages 10 and under swim 6:15pm to 7:00. Ages 11 and over swim 7:00pm to 7:45pm.
Essential Gear
Many of the these items can be purchased during our suit fitting. Aquatic Outfitters of Ohio will be coming to Allen Pool. They will allow you to try on goggles and swim suits. Date will announced soon.
- Practice suit. Girls need a one piece suit and boys wear jammers.
- Goggles. Make sure they are a good fit. Having a spare is recommended.
- Swim cap. Any can be worn for practice. Or not all at - swimmers choice. The STC cap MUST be worn during the swim meets. (provided)
- Towels
- Water bottle
- Competition suit for swim meets.
TEAM CAP
Each swimmer will receive a latex cap. It is not required to wear a swim cap but it is encouraged, not just for looks, but for speed. If your swimmer wear a cap during a meet, it MUST be a team cap.
Silicone caps are available for the cost of $15.00 They are available at the front desk during practice.
Weather / Cancellations
Practices will be rain or shine unless there is thunder and lightening. I will try to send out an email for cancellations but since I arrive at the pool early most days and if bad weather arrives, I CANT EMAIL FROM THE POOL with my phone. I will try to have a post on Facebook or you can text me at 740-298-1139. I can not control the weather so you just may have to use your best judgment sometimes.
END OF SEASON POTLUCK DINNER AND AWARDS
Following our last meet we will have an end of season dinner and awards followed by a pool party for the swimmers and their families.
Awards: In order for swimmers to receive a participation award they must swim in at least one swim meet..
Seniors need to swim in at least 2 meets to receive a senior gift from the team. The OVSL league offers a swim scholarship for just graduated high school senior. Seniors must be enrolled in any continuing education program. They must swim in at least 3 OVSL swim meets to be eligible for this scholarship.
POOL RULES
No one is to enter the pool until instructed to do so by your coach.
No one is to enter the shallow or deep end of the pool unless instructed to do so by your coach. Family members of the swimmers are not allowed to enter the pool during practice unless they are a registered member of the team.
Please stay off the stone wall behind the pool at all times.
Please clean up any messes from the pool area and locker rooms before leaving.
Please refrain from talking to the coaches during practice. This allows them to concentrate their efforts on the swimmers. If you have any questions or comments, please wait until after practice. All of our coaches are volunteers so please be considerate of their time.
SWIMMERS CODE OF CONDUCT
-HAVE FUN!!! This is a recreational swim team! SWIMMING IS FUN!!!
-Respect your fellow swimmers, parents, volunteers, coaches, officials, and opponent swimmers and coaches at all times.
-Give 100% effort at each practice and meet.
-Support and encourage teammates. Set a positive example.
-You are responsible for maintaining and wearing your swim cap, suit and goggles. Your parent paid money for these items respect them.
-Display good sportsmanship at all times.
-Do not be afraid of making mistakes or getting disqualified; that is part of learning. Don't be afraid to try new things.
-Be modest in victory and gracious in defeat.
PARENTS' CODE OF CONDUCT
-Emphasize the FUN of SWIMMING, and the importance of putting forth effort at all times, not winning or loosing.
-Respect other parents, coaches, swimmers, officials, volunteers and opponents at all times.
-Do not criticize other swimmers, volunteers or coaches under any circumstances.
-Please get permission from other parents before posting any pictures or videos of their children on social medial sites.
-Follow the 24 hour rule: if you have a complaint regarding a meet or practice please discuss with a coach on the following day. Please do not attempt to discuss with coaches during the meet or during practice. Of course if there is a serious, emergent problem you may notify a coach immediately. Do not use social media as a source for discussing concerns or complaints.
